Dikembe Mutombo, a towering N.B.A. presence and dedicated humanitarian in the Democratic Republic of Congo, died at 58.

Monday, September 30, 2024 11:44 AM ET

Mr. Mutombo retired with the second-most blocked shots in league history. He died from brain cancer, according to the N.B.A.
